“Lord, Your Ways Are Higher”

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” — Isaiah 55:8–9

Lord, I acknowledge today that things will not always turn out the way I expect.

The answer may not come as I envisioned.

I may have to wait longer than I hoped,

Or I may find that time is shorter than I thought.

Your ways are not mine—

You do things differently, because You are God.

You see the whole picture, from the beginning to the end.

And even when I don’t understand, I choose to trust.

Your plan is not to harm me but to prosper me.

You already know what tomorrow holds—

The trials I will face, the battles I’ll fight,

The lessons I’ll need to learn, and the grace You’ll give.

You know the road I must travel,

Each step, each pause, each turn.

So take my hand, precious Lord,

And lead me where You will.

I will follow—because You are faithful, and You are good.
